זית- משהו מהפולקלור
לפלח אחד היו שתי נשים, אהובה ושנואה. האהובה ובנה קיבלו בכל יום חמאה לאכול ואילו השנואה ובנה קיבלו שמן זית. כשהילדים, שהיו בני אותו הגיל, רבו ביניהם, תמיד היתה ידו של הבן שאכל שמן זית על העליונה. שאלה האישה האהובה את זקן הכפר: "הכיצד? הרי בני אוכל מזון משובח – חמאה – ונכנע לבן האישה השנואה, שאוכל רק שמן זית?" השיב לה זקן הכפר: "החמאה טובה ליופי, אך שמן הזית טוב לכוח". ביום מותו של הנביא מוחמד התאבלו גם עצי הגן: הגפן, התאנה, הרימון ואחרים. לאות צער השליכו את עליהם הירוקים. רק הזית לא השיר את עליו ועמד בהדר חופתו הירוקה. שאלו העצים את הזית: "אתה, מלך העצים, לא נאה לך להתאבל על מות הנביא?" ענה הזית ואמר: "אתם השלכתם את עליכם, למען ייראה צערכם ברבים, אבל אני, צערי כמוס בלבי והוא גדול משלכם, כי הנה יבש לבבי ומוח גזעי נמק!"
Some Folklore about Olives
A farmer had two wives, his beloved Adora, and despised Abhorra. Every day Adora and her son were given butter to eat and Abhorra and her son were given olive oil. When the children, who were the same age, quarreled among themselves, the hand of the son who ate the olive oil was always on top.
Adora asked the village elder, “How can this be? After all, my son eats fine food – butter – and he surrenders to the son of the despised wife who only eats olive oil?” The village elder replied: "Butter is good for beauty, but olive oil is good for strength."On the day of the Prophet Muhammad's death, the garden trees also mourned: the vine, the fig, the pomegranate, and the others. As a sign of sorrow, they dropped their green leaves. Only the olive did not shed its leaves and stood in the splendor of its green canopy. The other trees asked the olive tree: "You, the king of the trees, do you not wish to mourn the death of the prophet?" The olive answered: “You have cast off your leaves, so all can see your sorrow, but my sorry is hidden in my heart and it is greater than yours, and the inside of my belly is dry due to sorrow!”
