The healing shrub

Asaph ben Berechiah wrote: “The herb that is called Marva, in the language of Aram, will be of avail to all the pains and diseases in the body and will stop the blood from all sides from flowing and the pain of the women’s wombs”.
Asaph ben Berechiah (after whom Assaf Harofeh Hospital is named) lived in Babylon. He wrote that the medical knowledge he condensed in his book "Sefer Assaf" originated in medical traditions that have been preserved since the time of Noah's second son. Shem was born in 1558 AM, while Asaph lived in the 6th century AD. Hence the medical traditions that existed up to the time of Asaph were preserved and handed down from grandfather to grandson over a period that lasted for 2,700 years. Could this be possible?
Asaph noted that he was meticulous in Jewish culture, which preserved the truth as “the tip of the [letter] yod” (by adhering even to the most trivial details). And where are truth and integrity today? Let us reinforce them, without them we may repeat Babylon.
